In the digital age of photography, it is very easy to take lots of photos. The question is what to do with these photos. 

One of the options is to put the photos into a book. Blurb offers this option for photographers - you can download their software for free - just google blurb.com.

Blurb is very good for photo collections and some writing.

If you wish to have mostly writing in your book plus some photos you may consider a software package called InDesign - this is a software package used by magazines and newspapers -  it provides much more flexibility, templates and the ability to design your own book.

Once your book is completed in the Indesign software you can publish through Blurb. Blurb provides you with a "Bookstore" through which you can sell your books.
